Mirl E. Weir, 71, 804 W. Wabash Ave., died at Culver Hospital Sunday morning. He had been a long-time Crawfordsville resident. He was born Aug. 24, 1892, in Montgomery County, to William E. and Elizabeth J. Harwood Weir. He was married to Iva Douglas Sept. 28, 1912; she died Jan. 16, 1959. He had been a barber over 40 years. He had also worked at Mid-States, on a farm and at a furniture factory. He was a ember of Trinity Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, and Crawfordsville Chapter No. 40 Royal Oak Masons. Survivors include a son, Paul Weir of Cleveland, Ohio; two grandchildren; four brothers, Clyde Weir of Champaign, Ill.; Wallie Weir of Lafayette, Otto Weir of Mace, and Roy Weir of Kokomo, and three sisters, Mrs. Florence Dickerson of Linnsburg, Mrs Dolly Powers of here and Mrs. Opal Butler of Great Falls, Mont. He was preceded in death by by two brothers. Services will be at the Bright Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. John R. Servies and Rev. Keith Carlile will officiate. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
